Of the Courier-Post

When Haley Cassidy found an envelope on the floor at Ole Planters Restaurant Friday after a group of people had finished their meal, she thought it was unimportant.

Then she looked inside and found $2,000 in cash.

She quickly ran out of the restaurant and found the group that she has just served, so she could return the cash.

"She ran after them and found them and gave it back to the lady," said Ole Planters co-owner Jack Noonan.

He is proud of the quick thinking of his waitress, and called the Courier-Post to share this "good news" story, declaring he is "glad to see honest people are still left in this world."

A Hannibal High School junior, Haley is the daughter of Brent and Lori Cassidy. She has worked at the restaurant for a few months.

Haley said when she returned the money to the woman, "she was really appreciative. She could not believe she dropped it."
